Zebras belong to the same family with horses and donkeys; equidae family. They are typically of three species; Grevys (Equus grevyi), mountain (Equus zebra) and plains (Equus quagga). The stripe of each zebra is unique in patterns to the extent that the foals (baby zebras) identify their mothers by the pattern of their stripes. They are also fast moving animals, reaching speeds of up to 65kmph. Just like horses, zebras sleep standing up.
