Every photo has a story to tell. Every work of art smacks of a narrative. From an African perspective, it has tons of this telling. At Asili Photos, we seek to provide a platform for the photos and other creative works of art to speak for themselves, to tell their tales. And while at it, we hope it empowers those that are engaged in generating the artworks by earning them a modicum of perpetual, passive income on the onset. As the platform grows, the income earned by the sellers will grow substantially.
Asili Photos is more than an online platform. It is a community with three key stakeholders; the seller, the buyer and Asili Halisi who is the maintainer of the platform. The sellers are the ones providing their works for Asili Halisi to host, secure, market and license on behalf of the seller. The original license holder does not lose their right to their work.
At the top of this list is marketing! We actively source for clients, market the products to a worldwide audience and act as collection agents on behalf of the sellers. Additionally, we undertake these other activities;
Host, secure and ensure high availability of the works submitted to the platform by the sellers. We also ensure that all the information submitted on the platform by sellers, buyers and other stakeholders remain private and confidential.
We act as brand ambassadors for the works of the sellers submitted. This is because we believe in the same cause as the seller(s) in advancing the field of arts, especially in Africa.
In the event of any cases of legal issues regarding the use of works of a seller(s) outside of the scope of the defined license agreement, we will act on behalf of the seller(s).
Time and again, we sponsor and host events including boot camps and competitions. In such cases, we actively engage our sellers and affiliates to attend these events at discounted prices or even for free. This is geared towards capacity building of the pool of sellers and affiliates.
At the core of all this, our goal is to work towards the empowerment of the community in a mutually beneficial way. If you are a creative out there working on African-themed work, we will be glad if you became part of the community.
